Guest friendly hotels in Bangkok are high in demand for a good reason. After all, who wants to pay in full for a room only to have to pay an extra fee for taking an unregistered guest back to the room. This fee is called a joiner fee and it typically ranges from 500THB up to 1500THB depending on the hotel. So as you can see if anyone is planning on taking a companion up to a room in a non guest friendly hotel every night, the fee could really add up.
Most of the guest friendly hotels in Bangkok are concentrated in the district of Sukhumvit, so if you're wondering where to stay, Sukhumvit is the place to be. Sukhumvit is a very popular area for tourist and foreign expats because there are lots of restaurants, shopping and hotels that are tailored for foreigners. It's also no small coincidence that Sukhumvit has two of the most infamous red light districts in Bangkok. The first is Nana located on the intersection of Sukhuvmit Road and Nana Road. There are lots of bars in that particular area but the most popular is Nana Entertainment Plaza. What ever you don't miss NEP. It's a smallish 3 story building crammed full of go-go bars and open air beer bars on the ground floor.
The next red light district in Sukhumvit is a lot smaller. It's called Soi Cowboy. A Soi in Thailand is basically a street or an alley. Soi Cowboy is full of go-go bars that date back awhile ago and are mostly patronized by expats but a large surge of tourist are slowly indulging themselves there and for good reason. The go-go bars there can get quite raunchy.
This is the reason why most guest friendly hotels in Bangkok are situated in the Sukhumvit area. It's the place to be. Most people would think all guest friendly hotels are dingy and run down. Not in Bangkok. There are 5 star hotels in Bangkok that are guest friendly. Those hotels cost an arm and a leg however. I'm writing to say you don't have to spend all that money.
There are plenty of budget guest friendly hotels all over Sukhumvit. The best ones are found from Sukhumvit Soi 2 to Soi 23. Most of them have pools, in room electronic safes, free Wi-Fi Internet service and daily breakfast. And most importantly they are clean.
So if you're thinking about traveling to Bangkok and looking for a budget guest friendly hotel, look in the areas of Sukhumvit road. It has everything there you would need for a memorable vacation.
